Koort Mooditj (Strong Heart): Pre-Nursing for Indigenous Students (EQU028)

Description: 

This is an intensive four-week unit for students enrolled in the Koort Mooditj Pre-nursing course. Students will develop strategies and techniques to handle the pressures and routines of Nursing Studies. There will be an emphasis on university study skills, including nursing research and writing skills. Teaching activities will include nursing knowledge, communication skills, science knowledge, problem solving and health mathematics. Daily teaching focus will be on small group tutorials and clinical and science labs.

Contact time: 

5.5 hours per day for 4 weeks.

Prerequisites: 

Enrolment in Koort Mooditj (Strong heart) Pre-Nursing for Indigenous Students course.

Quota: 

This unit is subject to quota.

Students who have successfully completed a unit may not enrol for credit in any subsequent version of that unit, even if under a different code and/or title, nor in any parallel lower- or higher-level version. Students enrolled in a higher-level version of a unit are required to demonstrate advanced analytical skills and/or use of advanced research tools in assignments modified for that level.

Cancellation of Courses, Minors and Units
