Description: 

Consider contemporary policies and legal issues in international trade regulation. Examine the concept of free trade and the international structures that foster the liberalisation of international trade. Focus on the United Nations convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, 1980 (CISG), UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts, Hague Convention on the Law applicable to International Commercial Contracts, and the Principles of European Contract Law. Consider INCOTERMS 2000 and the Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits (UCP 500).

Prerequisites: 

All Part I units in the Bachelor of Laws.

Quota: 

This unit is subject to quota. Quota is due to limited resources. Preference may be given to students in Law in their final year.

Enrolment in the Master of Laws (Coursework).

Exclusions: 

LLM students may not enrol in the lower-level unit for credit.
Students who complete this unit at 300-level in an undergraduate Law course may not claim this unit as advanced standing toward an LLM.

This unit is not subject to quota.
