Funding boost for education

Murdoch University’s School of Education is reaping the benefits from the newly established Centre for Learning Change and Development.

The Centre promotes the School of Education’s expertise in the community and identifies and opens new research opportunities for staff.

The Centre (formerly the Centre for Curriculum and Professional Development) has secured nearly $2 million in research and consultancy funds since the beginning of 2001.

“Our main aim is to enhance learning outcomes, whether it is improving performance of boys in school or providing training for managers in the public sector,” said Centre Director, Mr Gary Martin.

Current clients include the Department of Conservation and Land Management, the Western Australian Department of Training and Employment, the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DETYA), the Education Department of Western Australia and the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia.
