The City of Gosnells recently signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Murdoch Universitys Institute for Sustainability and Technology Policy (ISTP) and the South East Metropolitan College of TAFE (SEMC).The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is in recognition of the progressiveness and the leading role the City of Gosnells has taken in relation to sustainability and a commitment for the mutually beneficial links to expand, said Dr Dora Marinova, Head of School, ISTP. This cooperation will help integrate policies for simultaneously creating a better economy, an improved environment and a more just participatory society. The City of Gosnells has already provided Murdoch students with several scholarships and there are a number of research projects in the pipeline. Two $7,000 research scholarships have already been provided, as well as a number of student work placements and projects. The inaugural scholarship recipient, Lisa March, was employed to work for the City of Perth as a direct result of her work at Gosnells. The current scholarship recipient, sustainable development student Kaylene Cameron, is researching energy efficient outreach and the community, a project developed in consultation with the Citys needs. |
