Professor Andrich has now held three international workshops about his research, and each one has attracted researchers from medicine, marketing, education and psychology. The interest in Professor Andrichs research has centred around the development of models to assess and compare achivement standards of children at different stages of growth and development. This system has many applications, and has already been used to monitor numeracy and literacy benchmark standards for years 3, 5 and 7 in Australian schools, and to monitor outcomes in health rehabilitation internationally, said Professor Andrich. Associate Professor Guanzhuong Luo recently left the National Institute of Education in Singapore to work more closely with Professor Andrich at Murdoch University. |
