Biomedical hubThe Centre for the Biomolecular Control of Disease at Murdoch University, which undertakes biomolecular research to characterise and control human and animal diseases, is one of the two founding nodes of the Western Australian Biomedical Research Institute (WABRI). WABRI carries out leading edge research in biomedical science to provide innovative solutions to the health care, medical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries by researching the molecular basis of disease control and strengthening medical research in Western Australia through the biomedical sciences. The Centre for Molecular Technology and Therapeutics at Curtin University (the second founding node) and the Chemistry Centre of Western Australia (CCWA) are the other major stakeholders in WABRI. WABRI is one of the four medical/biomedical research institutes in the Western Australian Biomedical R&D Alliance, which acts a lobby group for raising R&D funding from State and Federal Government and Industry. |
